The backwaters of Kerala
mainly cover four districts of the State
Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Kochi.
The largest backwater body, the Vembanad
Lake flows through Alappuzha and Kottayam
districts and opens out into sea at the
Kochi port. The second largest backwater
stretch as the gateway to the masjestic
backwaters of Kerala. The eight-hour cruise
from the magnificent Ashtamudi Lake to

is the longest and the most enchanting

Alleppey - Cochin

Stopover and shopping at the dry market
Day 5
We disembark from the houseboat and drive toward to Cochin (the colonial -era name) Kochi, its new name, is one and the half  hour drive from Alleppey. Kochi is often called by the name Ernakulam, which refers to western part of mainland Kochi.

Kochi was important spice trading centre on the Arabian Sea coast during the 14th century. Occupied by the Portuguese Empire in 1503 until 1530. The city was later occupied by the Dutch and then the British.

Kochi's literacy rate is 94% highest in India and a city with one of the largest Christian populations. Most of the time I spend my shopping in Jew Town, Kochi.

Kerala, India's most advanced society: A 100% literate people. World class health care systems. India's lowest infant mortality and highest life expectancy rates. the highest physical quality of life in India. Peaceful and pristine, Kerala is also India's cleanest State.

Joy and surprise that I have only discover 20% of my visit to this Kerala State of India. Nice experience and I will surely come back again.

Medical Tourism in Kerala India

Ayurveda  - The Traditional Health Science of India

The most popular medical or wellness treatment in Kerala is Ayurvedic massage , which involves various herbal massages, steam baths and yoga. To my surprise every hospital is locate inside the hotel or hospital resort.

What is Ayurveda or ayurvedic medicine?
Ayurveda or ayurvedic medical is a traditional medicine native to India backdated 5000 years ago and a form of alternative medicine still practice today. Ayus in Sanskrit meaning "longevity and Veda meaning "related to knowledge or science"

It is undeniable the cost of medical treatment here is cheaper than the rest of the world. Not only you can take care of your wellness at the same time you can also relax and enjoy the beautiful nature of the Kerala , "Wonders of India".
